Geeky Thanksgiving Gifts

As a Brit, I feel I’m not the best for giving gift ideas for Thanksgiving. This is a whole new concept for me, and one that we over the pond are admittedly jealous of. How much time off work do you get again?

Even with my lack of Thanksgiving experience, I feel I have some impartial knowledge I can offer those wanting to spoil their loved ones on this special day. After all, a gift is still a gift at the end of the day. With Black Friday and Cyber Monday just around the corner, your special person may have already planned some purchases, which leaves you slightly out of ideas.

Well, you’ve come to the right place as I’m here to provide some welcome advice for that geeky someone in your life. I have put together a list of some of the best geeky Thanksgiving gifts out there. Let’s get started.

Beetlejuice Handbook for the Recently Deceased

Let’s start things off with a bit of a jokey present. If you have any fans of the film you’re buying for this Thanksgiving then why not give them a laugh or two with the replica book.

The Handbook for the Recently Deceased is usually reserved for people who have passed away, but you give it to any aspiring writers or diary keepers this Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, this does not have any pages offering advice if one has indeed died. Instead, it’s 250 of blank paper that’s perfect for anyone who likes to keep notes or write a diary.

Star Wars BB-8 Desk Lamp

With the new movie just around the corner why not spruce up your geeky friend’s house with this BB-8 desk lamp. It’s a great little gift that’s really well designed. You can tell what it’s supposed to be instant, without screaming ‘Hey! I’m a geek.’

Fans of the series and of BB-8 himself will love this gift. Not only is it practical but it’s not even that expensive as far as lamps go. Give the gift of a droid to those who really need it this Thanksgiving and brighten up their day.

Star Wars Light Up Chopsticks

On with our second Star Wars gift with the Lightsaber Chopsticks. This is another joke gift that actually has some practical use for it. Anyone who enjoys a noodle or two knows the only real way to eat them is with Chopsticks. If you have a Star Wars fan in your life who loves noodles, then why not kill two birds with one stone?

The Star Wars Light Up Chopsticks are sturdy and great quality. They come in a wide arrange of colors, which you can choose from as well. Find out their favorite lightsaber color and surprise them with this excellent gift. The next noodle eating Jedi is just around the corner this Thanksgiving.

The Geeky Chef Cookbook

So you’ve already bought the lightsaber chopsticks and now your friend needs something to use them with. Well, say hello to the Geeky Chef Cookbook, filled with creative foods inspired by the many geeky franchises.

Cook foods from Harry Potter, Doctor Who and Game of Thrones and enjoy the delights of many of your favorite characters. This gift can be used over and over again and is perfect for any future dinner parties or heavy D&D sessions.

If you’ve always fancied tasting one of the delicious looking meat pies from Game of Thrones, then now’s your chance. Buy this gift this Thanksgiving and I am sure the recipient will want you to taste their efforts.

Laser Projection Virtual Keyboard

For anyone one who does a lot of work on their tablet or phone, this is the perfect gift for them. The Laser Projection Virtual Keyboard comes as a key fob and then connects with your smart device. Users can then type away on the projection, just like they would on a real keyboard.

This could be such a useful gift for anyone who tends to use his or her phone or tablet for work. Writing emails and notes has never been so easy. The device uses a built-in infrared laser transmitter to project a keyboard on a surface. Treat your busy friend this holiday with the perfect gift.

Exploding Kittens (Card Game)

This is a family-friendly game and a great gift for anyone who brightens up their get together’s with some gaming. Exploding Kittens is a lighthearted fun game, which only needs 2 players to play it. The art style is really impressive and it really sets the mood straight away.

The game features 56 cards full of laser beams, explosions and of course, kittens, with the occasional goat thrown in there. It’s the perfect family-friendly party game that will bring out your competitive edge whilst keeping you laughing into the night.

4D Cityscape of Game of Thrones Westeros

The intro in Game of Thrones is one of the most iconic parts of the show. The music, the special effects, it all just works. Well, now you can give the gift of that intro to your friends with the 4D Cityscape of Westeros.

What more needs to be said about this gift? Its hours of fun, building the continent of Westeros in a puzzle-like manner. If you know someone who loves the show and has too much time on their hands, then this is their perfect Thanksgiving gift.

Constantly threatening to write a book, but always with a story to tell. Tom has a typical northern English soul. He may sound as mundane as Jon Snow, but at least he tries to articulate. Lover of video games, comics, geek pop culture and wishing he could play Dungeons & Dragons.
