5 Games Under $5

We could all use a little extra cash from time to time. Saving money is important as we never quite know what lies around the financial corner. With that said, we could all use a little fun in our life as well.

Sometimes on a Friday evening, I love nothing more than to dive into a new video game. That’s great and all, but who can afford to spend $50 or so on a brand new game every weekend, I hear you ask. Well, the great news is that there are plenty of games out there you probably have played, and you can pick some of them up for under $5.

Taking the time to have a shop around online can yield some great deals and prove that I’ve brought you 5 Games Under $5. Please remember that these prices may change if you’re reading this article in the future.

Get your wallet or purse out and get ready to save some brass as we look at 5 Games Under $5:

Nox

The oldest game on our list and one you’ve probably never heard of. Nox is a fine game from the now disbanded studio Westwood. Overshadowed by games like Diablo, this is an isometric RPG, which features Sean William Scott as the voice of the protagonist. Still not sold?

Pick from one of 3 classes and travel through the world of Nox and defeat the evil queen Hecubah. This is an epic quest that demands multiple playthroughs as each class has a slightly different story attached to it.

Nox never quite got the praise it deserves, but now you can experience it for yourself. It’s full of interesting enemies, plenty of great spells and abilities and a game that showcases just how good old school RPGs really are.

The game may not look like much on the surface, but if you’re a fan of the Baldur’s Gate or Diablo game series, this is one you’ll want to try for yourself. The campaign is relatively short, so its perfect for a Friday night gaming session.

Party Hard

Party Hard is a great time if you don’t take it seriously. What I mean by that is essentially this game is about being a serial killer. It’s about going to parties and slowly killing random victims, so it’s not going to be for everybody.

If this does sound like your kind of game (in the nicest possible way) then what you’ll get for under $5 is a lot of pixel pleasure as your slash and stab your way through numerous parties.

Party Hard is a single player game, but I found that you can have a lot of fun playing it with someone, seat swapping every so often. It’s fun and because the graphics are somewhat retro, it’s not all about in your face gore that might turn some people away.

For any streamers out there, you can also set this game up to allow your chat to have some control over the night’s events but be warned, you may not want that. Avoid the cops, hide bodies and have encounters with other like-minded serial killers in Party Hard.

Star Wars Battlefront

With the imminent release of Star Wars Battlefront II, it was only a matter of time before this game had a huge drop in price. Thankfully, that’s here on Xbox for you all to enjoy.

Star Wars Battlefront is a first-person shooter set in the Star Wars world. Another great thing here is that the version for sale is the ultimate edition, meaning you get all the DLC with it.

If you never got around to playing this title, now might be a good time whilst it’s cheap and you never know, this might encourage you to pre-order Star Wars Battlefront II.

There has never been a Star Wars game that looks as good as this one does. The accurate models have been lovingly recreated; truly taking you into the world you love and know so well.

Super Meat Boy

If you haven’t seen Indie Game The Movie, then you may not have heard of Super Meat Boy. But don’t worry, now is your chance to experience this game first hand.

This little indie platformer is a great adventure for a Friday night in. Its excellent level design and charming characters will have you hooked in a matter of hours.

Don’t waste any time looking for a great indie game, you have one right here that shows how a very small team of passionate people can make an excellent product that rivals the big boys.

For any fans of Sonic, Super Mario, and all the other classic platforming games, you’ll find Super Meat Boy can rival all of them. The greatest thing is that it’s probably the cheapest game on our list, so take the risk and give it a try.

Five Nights At Freddy’s

We are edging that little bit closer to Halloween, so why not give something a try that fits with the time of year? Five Nights At Freddy’s is your jump scare Halloween fix. It’s a game that will have you jumping out of your skin on more than one occasion.

This game is tense, very tense. There aren’t many games that keep you gripped like Five Nights At Freddy’s. Although it’s a relatively short game, it’s one that has endless replayability, and for something under $5, who can argue there?

Five Nights At Freddy’s is great for Halloween and it’s great to sit down with a buddy and make each other jump at inappropriate times.
