Will Red Dead Redemption 2 See a PC Release?
Someone sent me the Red Dead Redemption 2 trailer the other day. The game looks amazing and I wondered, is it coming to PC?
Back in August during an earnings call with Take-Two Interactive (GTA V Publisher) President Karl Slatoff said:
It really depends on the title. Some titles are actually heavily weighted to PC, for example, Civilization and XCOM, [but] some titles are less weighted to PC. The great news is that the PC market is vibrant for us. It’s a great market. It’s a big market. It’s a core market.
Obviously, that’s no confirmation, but Rockstar has had a lot of success with GTA V on PC. So it would seem almost natural that the game would see a PC release, even if it was released after the console release.
According to steamspy GTA V is owned by 9.7 million players. It’s also been consistently one of the best sellers, and most played games on Steam for years now.
Unfortunately I wasn’t able to dig up any hard evidence the game is coming to PC. Although someone seems to think that Red Dead Redemption is expected to be one of the top selling games this year. Considering GTA V’s Success both on console and PC, I would guess that’s a solid bet.
I was also able to find a sweet change.org petition to get this game on PC. I highly doubt the publisher would really care about such a petition but I guess it can’t hurt to sign up for it right?
Anyways let’s hope this amazing looking game makes it to PC for us all to enjoy.
