1. Acer Aspire E 15 E5-575 15.6 inches

Price: $349

User Rating: 4.1 / 5.0

Unless you want a hardcore gaming laptop, the Acer Aspire E does everything an above average laptop user would want it to. An impressive 4GB RAM and a 100GB SATA hard-drive, you can use it for your multi-media projects, business projects and anything else that would require efficient computing. With an average battery life of 12 hours, you have just the right laptop for a power-user. Do note that this is a heavy machine with a 15.6-inch screen and weighs 5.3 pounds. If you are OK with the screen size and the weight, this should be your best buy.

2. Acer Chromebook 11.6 Inch Laptop

Price: $179

User Rating: 4.1 / 5.0

The Acer Chromebook 11.6-inch laptop is one of those rare mini laptops that is portable, durable, stable, reliable and performs exceptionally well. It’s the ideal portable laptop for students or business professionals who need a small and compact device to carry around. As small as it is, the laptop has some amazing specs with 2GB RAM, 16GB SSD, and an Intel Celeron 2.16GHz processor. You also don’t have to worry about battery life as this beauty can last up to 9 hours easily. Other factors such as build quality, keyboard comfort, display, color, and sound have an overall good performance expected from a miniature laptop. Do note though that this is a Chrome OS which means that if you are a heavy Windows user, you may find it odd to use the Chrome especially since the app store may not be as sophisticated as that of Apple.

3. HP 14-inch AMD Laptop

Price: $219

User Ratings: 3.9 / 5.0

The HP 14-inch laptop is just perfect in terms of size. It’s not as gigantic as 15.6-inch laptops and neither has tiny as the 11-inch ones. It’s the right laptop for a writer, a social media manager, and a freelancer. It comes with 4GB RAM, 32GB hard drive, an AMD E2-7110 processor, a Windows 10 OS, and a battery time of 5 hours. With these specs, it’s definitely not as powerful as the others, but it’s worth your mettle if all you need is a good laptop that can get the job done without much fuss. You can play games or perform some basic multi-media tasks, however, don’t expect it to be fast and powerful for this purpose. The laptop is meant for business users and not for power users.

4. HP 15.6 Inch Touch Screen

Price: $278

User Rating: 3.6 / 5.0

Until a year ago, most touch screen laptops were either convertibles that were too flimsy or notebooks that were good for fun, but not for actual work. The HP 15 – F222WM, 15-Inch laptop covers this lack of a decent touchscreen laptop. It is equipped with the powerful Intel Pentium Quad-Core processor, a 4GB RAM, and a 500GB SATA hard drive WITH a DVD/CD burner. Seriously! All this at that rate! Our designers and developers were more than happy to get this beast at such a nominal price. The only con? It has a short battery life of only 6 hours, so you might have to keep the charger plugged in if you happen to use it for hours. If you love a touchscreen experience on a powerful Windows 10 laptop, it’s one flaw you can live with.

Work, play, watch movies, make movies, do whatever you want with a laptop boasting of 9 hrs battery life, 7th Gen Intel Core i5, 1 TB HDD and Windows 10 only for $499! It’s actually quite a surprise to have a laptop equipped with anti-glare FHD panels, upgradable memory, 4 USB Ports, 1 HDMI and 1 VGA port to be available at this price. Want more? It also has a Fingerprint Scanner which makes data access authorization a completely new experience.

6. Lenovo Idea 310 15.6 – Inch Laptop

Price: $422

User Rating: 3.6 / 5.0

The Lenovo Idea 310 laptop is the ideal machine for people who binge watch dramas, movies, YouTube, songs etc. It’s a laptop built for the purpose of entertainment with its impressive 15.6 inch HD display, it’s Stereo Speakers with Dolby technology and its AMD Radeon graphics for super-fast processing power. Oh, and it also has a DVD/CD-RW drive too (apparently these drives aren’t obsolete yet). The laptop has a good finish and is pretty thin and light considering that it’s a heavy-duty machine. So if you intend to carry a laptop around, this won’t be much of a bugger. The one con with all machines of similar nature? The battery life. Although it states 9 hours, it would normally give 6 hours of minimum use and perhaps 4 to 5 hours of maximum use. So if battery life is not an issue (which you can always tweak), this should be a good buy for someone who is looking for a competitive machine at an affordable price.

This machine is designed for people who take their laptops seriously, very very seriously. 17.3-inch screen, 8GB RAM, 1 TB HDD, 7th Gen Intel Core i5, DVD/CD burner, and everything else you ever need to have a fully-functional laptop. It works like lightning, is smooth as butter (for the lack of a better phrase) and looks sexy as hell. All of this for $466. It’s real. No kidding. It’s the latest release to come from HP and people still need to lay their hands on it.

9. ASUS VivoBook E403SA

Price: $389

User Rating: 3.2 / 5.0

Another 14-inch, HD screen laptop that weighs just 3.3 pounds and is 0.7 inches thin. This machine boasts a good battery life of 14 hours and has an Intel Quad Core N3700 1.6 GHz processor with a 4GB RAM. This is an ideal laptop for people who want a mid-range laptop that is neither too heavy nor too light. The only con? A VGA camera that could be annoying if you are a frequent video call user. Perfect for students, writers and those who love the simpler things in life.

10. Asus Transformer Book T300 Chi Signature

Price: $440

User Rating: 3.6 / 5.0

The Asus Transformer Book T300 Chi Signature is a convertible laptop which means you can even use it as a tablet separate from the keyboard. Although most people would consider 2-in-1s as frail devices, they are actually quite powerful. The Asus Transformer has an Intel Core M5Y10c processor, a 4GB RAM and a 128 GB hard-drive; pretty much the specs of an ordinary mid-tier laptop. But with this if you get to convert your laptop into a cool tablet screen, you’ve got a good deal. Not to mention a 12.5” screen to meet your entertainment needs.
